Chopsy Baby is Reviewing… Annabel Karmel’s brand new Fuss Pots

Chopsy Baby Says: “Genuinely tasty ready meal for children”

Rating: 9/10

What is it?
From a children’s nutritionist with a passion for home cooked healthy food, a ready meal from Annabel Karmel seems the ultimate contradiction.

But the new Fuss Pot range, has to be her best attempt so far at bringing tasty food for tricky toddlers via the supermarket chilled aisles.

The recipes are based on those she uses in her own books and include: Chicken Korma, Chicken ‘N’ Rice Nasi Goreng, Spaghetti Bolognese with Hidden Veg, Kickin’ Chicken Chow Mein.

They have been created for slightly older children aged 4 – 10 years of age. Their aim is to bring tasty world cuisine to younger children’s palates that would be as good as a home cooked version made at home.

They come in microwaveable pots and feature gentle monster characters to appeal to little ones.

An addition to the packaging, is the push for children to use the tub to grow their own seeds at home.

Annabel Karmel’s Ready Meal ranges have met with mixed reactions in the past. But there should be no worries here. The new Fuss Pot range is practical for parents and actually tastes good.

The meal is a good size for a quick warming lunch. This will be especially useful with children home for the Christmas holidays soon. It can be microwaved and then either eaten from the tub or popped on a plate.

The flavours are subtle, but tasty and won’t overwhelm young palates like an adult version of mild curry will.

We tested out the Chicken Korma and Spaghetti Bolognese with Hidden Veg.

The Verdict:

Chicken Korma
Genuinely tasty and a perfect portion size.
Harry Says: “I don’t like curry that my dad makes, but I like this. It’s nice.”
Spaghetti Bolognese with Hidden Veg
Easy for youngsters to eat without turning orange.
Ivy Says: “It’s really nice. I would like this for dinner after school.”
