Grandparents save whilst grandchildren work paper rounds

Grandparents are saving for their grandchildren’s future, with some putting away more than £1,000 per year.

Dubbed the silver savers, research by C&G Savings found that 33 per cent of grandparents are currently saving.

But 67 per cent won’t save, with 13 per cent believing this should be solely down to the parents.

New research from Halifax Savings found that children are busy earning cash for themselves.

Children between the ages of 8 – 16 years are earning an average of £18.52 per week, mainly from paper rounds.
