Monster in the Hood by Steve Antony – Review

It’s nice to finally see a children’s story picture book that isn’t swishy swashy fields, blue streams and summer skies.

This urban story features three bad ass animal characters Sammy Squirrel, Henri Hedgehog and Marvin Mouse who have all heard about The Monster and set about tracking it down. Is it as scary as its reputation?

If you have a family living in built up central areas with the police on speed dial and black outs to keep out the crime then this book is going to be just right for your three year old.
