Problem Tenants with Anti Social Behaviour Evicted by Bristol City Council and Police

Problem Tenants in Bristol Evicted: Antisocial behaviour from three addresses in Barton Hill has been stopped at last, after police secured closures for three problem flats.

The three sets of occupants were evicted from Phoenix House and the properties closed for three months after a court agreed with Bristol City Council and Bristol Police.

It’s the first time a closure order has been granted in the Avon and Somerset police force area.

Drugs, alcohol, late night parties and assaults and intimidation connected to the families meant that other residents were too afraid to leave their homes and children were unable to go onto their balconies.

For Trinity Road neighbourhood policing team, PC Emily McGuiness said: “This is a first for our force; obtaining closures can be difficult so we were very pleased when the magistrates didn’t hesitate to issue a closure on all three properties.

“The tenants and visitors to these flats were affecting the lives of almost 100 fellow residents, not to mention the wider community. These three addresses also added significant work load to our neighbourhood policing and response teams.”
