Review: Soupologie – Spinach and Kale with Garlic

sp

Some specialist bread and quality soup, makes an ideal filling meal for one when you are too tired to come up with anything too radical for dinner.

And it it’s good quality, vegetarian, vegan and just a bit foodie that you are after, then the range of soups from Soupologie are just what you are looking for.

With delightfully pretentious, yet living up to the hype flavours of Broccoli and Matcha Green Tea or Roasted Butternut Squash & Red Pepper these fresh soups are palate pleasing with their natural ingredients and without the cloying goopiness mixed into off the shelf varieties.

Top of our list is Spinach & Kale with Garlic. It may look like Gremlins exposed to sunlight in the pan, but the addition of the garlic is what lifts this soup from healthy premium to something much more special.

Soupologie was founded by a chartered accountant Stephen Argent. in 2011.

He says: “Our soups were initially trialled at local fairs and stalls in and around north London, making their debut at the Hampstead Christmas Fair. Taking on board feedback from the public, we realised that there was a market for a brand making really tasty and healthy soups that would become known for being reliably delicious, nutritious, vegetarian and suitable for people with various food intolerances and dietary requirements.

“In today’s traditional soup market, the majority of soups are mass produced in the usual predictable flavours, diluted with cream and milk, heavily spiced and thickened with a commercial form of cornflour. At Soupologie, we’re firm believers in the power and flavour of the vegetable! We let them speak for themselves and create healthy and innovative twists to the flavours, which are lightly enhanced with herbs and spices to bring out the best in each ingredient.”
