Chopsy Baby booked a table at the Star Inn for a traditional Sunday carvery.
We have to say we were more than just a little disappointed with everything. When going to the carvery all the items were right down to the dregs at the bottom.
The potatoes were wallowing in greasy oil, there was no Yorkshire puddings, no Cauliflower cheese and according to staff their ovens were not even working so quite how the meat was cooked we didn’t ask.
Our high chair was broken and we had to use our own harness. We didn’t see any table service at all between bringing out the food and collecting the plates. No one came over to check we were ok, offer drinks or even a dessert menu at any point.
When we decided to check out the dessert menu we had to send someone off to track it down. It took ten minutes to get the wandering staff’s attention. We decided not to get a £3.95 dessert for a child and if there were children’s portions it certainly did not say.
Staff should never be overheard bitching about the customers. Even if they are management.
What we did love about the Star Inn and made us laugh out loud was the chocolate and Bailey’s mouse on the menu.
Sums up our experience.
