Teenagers just want to be famous
The fickle fame game is attracting UK youngsters into what they see as a viable career option ahead of many other traditional job roles.
Research conducted by website IntoTheBlue.co.uk, found that a staggering 54 per cent of sixteen-year-olds wanted to be famous when they are older.
Just 9 per cent wanted a useful legal career, an optimistic 13 per cent would like to work in the media and just 15 per cent wanted a career in medicine.
Though a rich and famous celebrity lifestyle appealed the most, 68 per cent of youngsters didn’t know how to achieve this, though they felt a reality TV show would be their best option.
When questioned further, just 19 per cent admitted to thinking they actually had enough talent to make them worthy of fame.
The top three stars that acted as inspirational role models to the teens were Kate Moss, Wayne Rooney and Lady Gaga.
Reassuringly, making fifth position was talent worthy entrepreneur Richard Branson, beating Alex Reid who inspired enough 16 year-olds to creep in at tenth place.
