Puressentiel’s 100 per cent natural Anti-Lice Complete Treatment & Lotion Review

It’s back to school for the last half term stint of the academic year.

And you can absolutely guarantee that very specific parent, if not a small herd of them in the school, has still not bothered to de-lice their child during the half term. Frustrating as it is, there is nothing you can do except keep paying attention to your own children’s hair.

If you shudder to think of the hideous chemicals children of the 80s were subjected to, worry not. For head lice treatment has come so far since those dark days. And if you want to keep things as natural as possible, Puressentiel’s New 100% Natural Anti-Lice Complete Treatment and Comb is just the ticket.

The 100 per cent natural formula heralds its natural credentials with the aroma of mulled wine. It contains plant oils of coconut, jojoba, sunflower, sweet almond, caster, lavender, clove, tea tree and geranium.

The formulation works by obstructing the respiratory openings of the lice, larvae and nits meaning that not only are they gently asphyxiated, they are also unable to develop any resistance.

One bottle will do one person with very long hair and application is very simple. The bottle has a long applicator. Apply the lotion section by section to dry hair and leave for 10 minutes. After this time wash hair and then comb through with the lice comb. A second application is required three days later.

To keep lice at bay, Puressentiel also do a Lice Repellent Spray. It’s effective for 24 hours and ideal for application before the school day.

The supplied nit comb has very long teeth. This has advantages and disadvantages. If your child has long thick hair, this will make it so much easier to brush through than standard sized nit combs. But do be aware that the teeth can separate slightly, so it may be worth a quick follow through with a standard comb to make sure every last nit or head lice has gone.

Chloe Allen took on the job of testing out the product with five year old Henry and nine year old Sebastian.

Chloe says: “Head Lice have been causing some real upset in Henry’s class. It seems to be a never ending job getting rid of the blighters. That is until the school holiday when he doesn’t come into contact with whoever the repeat offender is. Henry has very short hair, but he quickly passes anything he catches onto Seb as they are thick as thieves. I’ve never heard of Pureessentiel before. It’s not been on my radar and is not my normal go-to product. But as good as it claims, it’s got rid of the latest batch Henry or Seb brought home. And, because we all have very short hair, the whole family can be done with one bottle. It’s also quite a few pounds cheaper than the brand I buy so all round, I’ve been very impressed.”
