Term Time Holiday – Bristol to Butlins. Bite Me!
Living in Central Bristol is wonderful. There are so many great places to go locally – museums, theatres, open space, the docks.
But the pollution is so bad it’s hard to breathe some mornings on the school run. A school that is also based off of one of the busiest roads in Central Bristol.
And of course, there are the negative aspects of living in the inner city. Drunk people wheeling furniture around at 3am. Drunken punch ups. Pub karaoke until 1am next door. Screaming neighbours and rogue mopeds. Lots of police.

Its a tough environment to bring up children. Especially after a hellish year at their old junior school headed by a person who appears to systematically push children out who have any types of special educational needs. And that is before mentioning the deplorable state of the curriculum and factory conveyor belt constantly churning out carbon copied children – primary English curriculum!
So yes. I have no qualms about term time holidays during primary school. Were we home educating or at a private school it wouldn’t matter.
This week, we will make sure we get out money’s worth before the £120 fine drops through the letter box. A letter box which won’t be affected by the forthcoming council cuts due to Central government funding cuts. Because the council doesn’t have any libraries, toilets or other services in our local area to cut. I doubt it will spend our £120 wisely.
