30 years old is the optimal age for a first baby say South West parents

Parents believe the optimal age to start having children in the South West is from the age of 30.

Those living in Wales and Northern Ireland through 25 was better and the oldest optimal age is believed by Londoners to be 37.

The findings came from a study by VoucherCloud.com, who researched the attitudes of 2,318 British parents.

A 69 per cent of parents in general felt they did not have their first child at what they considered to be their optimal age, with 52 per cent thinking they started their family too young.

Being able to afford to start a family was important to 35 per cent and 19 per cent had to own their own home first.
