49 per cent of parents can’t take time from work to go on holiday

It won’t come as a surprise to time-strapped parents, but one in five now can’t even take enough time off work for a family holiday.

Despite holiday entitlements, it seems that parents go for the pay over the time, with 49 per cent having to work rather than get away with their children.

According to the research from Thompsons, not only are parents getting home from work too late to spend time with their children, but 16 per cent still have to carry on with their jobs on Blackberry’s, mobiles or laptops.
