4little1s.com Mumpreneur Celebrates Third Year of Trading
It was just three short years ago that Surrey stay-at-home mother Christianne James, decided to establish her online business 4little1s.com.
During pregnancy, Christianne decided to shop online rather than face the hassle of the high street on a blustery Saturday afternoon. “It soon became apparent it was not as straight forward as I had thought. That’s when I had the light bulb moment of there has to be another way,” she says.
Sitting at the kitchen table with just a blank piece of paper and glass of wine, Christianne decided to create her own online nursery store, selling quality bedding, gifts and furniture.
Starting a business just as the world was entering ‘financial chaos’ did raise a few eyebrows she admits, but confident in her idea and having covered the downsides she got on with it.
Utilising the specialist IT skills of her husband and working very long and hard hours, Christianne managed to turn her online store into a business making £120,000 profit within three years.
A “supportive family who understand the business and are happy to help out during the peak seasons,” Christianne realised was a big reason behind her success.
She continues: “Having confidence in your idea, not afraid of hard work or long hours and just having the stubborn belief it that you will make it happen have all been contributing factors in making the business grow and where it is today.”
