Booking Recommended: 1984 at the Tobacco Factory

1984 – Orwell’s dystopian satire of Stalin’s Russia, will be drawing audiences at the Tobacco Factory Theatre this week.

The tale of Winston Smith’s doomed love and rebellion in the midst of a totalitarian regime is as chillingly relevant in 2010 Britain as it was when published in 1949.

This show From Northern Broadsides and The Dukes, promises to be a fitting new stage version scaring us all into just how close we have come to it.
