Find Another Way is tagged as Neuro-Linguistic Programming for kids. NLP, a tool to improve personal and professional development, may have its many sceptics and sound a little scary to parents. But, this book is not brainwashing. It’s a simple story about a little boy learning to use his brain to problem solve.

The language is simple rhyme and the images bold.

The problems youngster Joe has to solve are plausible scenarios that even adults can learn from. When Joe discovers Hatterjack the toad is unable to get his toy car out of a glass jar, one can only  wonder how many adults have got body parts stuck in such tight spots. Perhaps simply because they could not be bothered to turn something upside down. Or they thought they could use The Force to reach the mobile phone fallen between the bed and headboard, ending up with their arm truly wedged.

Best of all…
This book is great for teaching children to use their initiative. An art truly lacking from today’s middle management society.

Could improve…
The NLP label may needlessly put parents off. There is nothing to be scared about with this book. It’s simply a teaching tool to help children to think out their problem.

Basically…
This book is really useful for toddlers and reception age children who become frustrated and angry when they can’t get something to work as they want it too. The book will help children to stop the frustration and smashing up of toys by simply engaging the brain to find another solution to the problem.
