UK parents pulling out £267 per child this Easter

The Easter break and run of Bank Holidays will be taking their toll on the parent purse, with estimates that UK parents will spend an average of £267 per child during their course.

While parents said they were pleased at the Bank Holidays and being able to spend the extra time with their children, 10 per cent are worrying about the extra costs of entertaining their children and 12 per cent are wondering just how they are going to entertain them.

Parents are planning cut backs, to visit family and friends and watch DVDs at home.

The research from LV=’s annual Cost of a Child Report, found that the top treat to entertain the children will be the relatively expensive trip to the cinema (54 per cent) Watching DVDs at home (50 per cent) and visiting family and friends (47 per cent).
