Mothers-to-be learn skills to prepare for baby arrival

Learning to drive, taking cookery classes and learning to sew, were three things mothers-to-be felt they had to learn in preparation for having a baby.

In fact, 12 per cent of expectant mothers either felt their cooking skills just weren’t up to scratch or took classes to alleviate boredom.

A total of 9 per cent felt being able to drive would make motherhood simpler and 17 per cent learned to sew anticipating impending damage to clothing.

Pregnancy and baby books are still the most popular way of preparing for a new baby, with a whopping 71 per cent of mothers-to-be reading up to ‘cope better’ when their baby arrives.

More than 1,000 mothers across the UK were polled by MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, to find out what preparations they made for their first born.
