Check child ticket prices parents warned
Parents are being warned to check baggage allowances and flight prices for infants when booking their summer breaks.
According to research by TravelSupermarket.com, some low cost airlines are charging double for child seats compared to adult seats.
Infant baggage allowance and the cost of transporting car seats also varies from airline to airline..
Spokesperson for TravelSupermarket.com, Bob Atkinson says: “With many families watching the pennies this summer, parents need to look at the total cost of traveling with their young children. The price with a budget airline may seem attractive, but it could end up being more expensive once you pay for an infant seat and for excess baggage. Parents may assume their infant has a provision for their luggage however; this is very often not the case and could end up incurring parents extra costs.”
