New online charity will support children with Neurofibromatosis

An online charity, the first of its kind in the UK, has just launched with the aim of improving the lives of children who have tumours.

Children With Tumours has been set up by Chris de Winter and her brother Kevin Powell.

There is no office to fund, with the operation running only through the website www.childrenwithtumours.org

The charity is raising funds to help provide respite to children and their carers who are affected by the condition Neurofibromatosis (NF).

There are two types of Neurofibromatosis which affects the skin, nervous system and brain.

Non-cancerous tumours develop on the skin along nerve tissue with the presence of cafe-au-lait spots.

There are more than 25,000 people in the UK affected by NF, with another baby being born with the condition every day.
