Current family set up includes 1.6 children and 0.7 children from a previous relationship

One in three families with two parents now include children from previous relationships.

Findings by Aviva in their Family Finances report, show that the changing family model in the UK contains 1.6 children with 0.7 step children.

Regular monthly maintenance payments varied enormously, from just £50 per child to more than £1,500. The average for those receiving support came to £254 per child per month.

A 33 per cent of parents receiving child support said they relied on it to make ends meet.
