Distance learners look for childcare courses
Increasing numbers of UK adult learners are searching for childcare related courses, according to distance learning website Floodlight.
According to the website’s statistics, child minding, babysitting, foster parenting and a variety of pregnancy and parenting courses, have leap in popularity.
“As more and more families are pushed for time and money, the demand for childcare knowledge has grown substantially. It’s getting harder for parents to take time off work and forgo income to look after their children, so it’s easy to see how the flexibility of online courses is so appealing, Mark O’Donoghue, Managing Director of Hotcourses Education Media said.”
“We can only expect the popularity of these courses to rise if childcare costs continue to climb. More people are seeking to learn these skills for themselves as they can no longer pay for professional services.”
Behind childcare in course searches came interior design, fashion textiles and clothing, engineering and photography.
