Practical, good quality with timeless design baby changing bags are mothers’ choice

Fashionable, timeless or practical, was the question asked by JJ Cole HQ, in their quest to find what makes up the perfect baby changing bag.

Consulting a panel of parents,  34 per cent preferred a handbag that was practical above all else.

But an equal number rated timeless, chic design with good quality craftsmanship.

Only 18 per cent admitted they absolutely had to have a bag that reflected the very latest trends, though interestingly, no one wanted an expensive designer label.

Reassuringly, 14 per cent didn’t give a monkeys what kind of bag they had as long as it worked for themselves.

The Ideal changing bag shouldn’t scrimp on size, according to the panel of mums, but as well as a voluminous inside, compartments and pockets should be available in abundance.

The nine considerations when bag buying for the baby were found to be:

1.      Size

2.      A detachable changing mat

3.      Lots of pockets & compartments

4.      Waterproof

5.      Separate zipped area for dirty items

6.      Washable or wipe-clean lining

7.       Insulated bottle pocket

8.      Buggy clips

9.  An adjustable padded shoulder strap
