M4 misery diversion this Saturday

For people planning to use the M4 this weekend, journeys may be affected by closures and diversions.

A new bridge is to be lifted into place on the M4 near Swindon, at South Leaze between Junction 15 and 16.

The motorway will be closed in both directions, and traffic diverted from 7pm on Saturday 16th, and reopen by 10am on Sunday 17th of May.

During the overnight closure for South Leaze Bridge between Junction 15 and 16 (16/17 May), traffic will be diverted as follows:

Westbound traffic will leave the M4 at Junction 15, take the A419 to the Commonhead Roundabout, the A4259, A4312, B4289, B4006 and A3102 to rejoin at Junction 16.

Eastbound traffic will leave at Junction 16 and follow the same diversion in the opposite direction
