How to…Make a cake

Teaching children how to cook is a vital life skill, and there are few skills more important than making cake.

This is a simple recipe which is more about letting toddlers have fun, waste a wet afternoon and learn that cake doesn’t come in a box at Asda.

Ingredients:

150g/6oz of softened butter – margarine is fine
150g/6oz plain flour
3 eggs
150g/6oz caster sugar

Method:

1. Oven 180 degrees

2. Grease up cake trays

3. Put butter and sugar into mixing bowl – mix

4. Add eggs

5. Add flour

6. Mix up and put into cake trays

7. Cook for 20 – 25 mins

8. Decorate

9. Job done
