A row has broken out on a Facebook community page concerning the quality of food being dished up to primary school children at Knowle Park in Bristol.

The Spotted in South Bristol page featured a photograph anonymously submitted by a parent who had attended a Mother’s Day lunch at the school. Though a comment wasn’t included with the post, the photograph has prompted mockery from Bristol residents and over 200 shares and comments.

Page members who also claim to be staff members – though don’t appear on the school’s official staff list – have waded into the debate, backed by some parents and other people who cater in schools.

A parent who said she had attended the Mother’s Day event at the school wrote: I eat that dinner and there was nothing wrong with it and it hasn’t made me ill!

School dinners at the South Bristol school are priced at £2.05.
