No grand garden designs for children

A kid’s perfect garden would consist of a paddling pool, space for playing and flowers and veg to grow.

Garden centre Notcutts polled kids aged 6-7 to find the reassuringly simple back yard requirements.

Bad weather wouldn’t put them off either, with 80 per cent of kids finding wellies and buckets just as much fun in the rain.

‘A bit of garden to call my own’ was what 90 per cent of children wanted with most happy to help parents plant, grow and cultivate flowers, fruit and veg.
