Christmas Festivities at Old Down Country Park

Holidays are coming at Old Down Country Park, with a series of festive events for families.

Launch Day Parade: 25 November. Get into the Christmas spirit as Santa arrives at Old Down on a tractor with his excited elves and with a whole parade of characters, entertainers and festive music. The parade will be touring the park so there are plenty of chances to see it pass. Excited? Get in touch if you want to be part of the Parade

Santa’s Grotto: 25 November – 24 December. A magical experience in Santa’s cosy yurt in our woodland. Meet our elves; explore our Christmas trail; have a peek at the Fairy Garden then meet Santa himself with a yummy mini hot chocolate drink to warm you after your outside adventures. Don’t forget to say hello to Clyde our pony who auditioned and was cast as Rudolf this year. Book online.

Ice Rink: 25 November – 23 January 2019: For the first time ever we’ve got an ice rink at Old Down. It’s real ice and will be up for two months so you can really build up your skills. A great winter activity, the ice rink is ideal for families and friends and can even be booked exclusively. As it’s undercover you can enjoy it whatever the weather. Look out for our themed ice skating events in January. Skate to your favourite soundtracks including sessions for Frozen, The Greatest Showman, Mamma Mia, 80s or 90s and UV/Laser Discos for young adults. Book online.

Apres Skate Bar: 25 November – 23 January 2019: Warm up after your skate or just nip in to enjoy our real ale and chef-made food. Our cosy barn is fully themed with log fires, rugs, winter cocktails and outdoor firepit.
