The Matthew of Bristol Parking Up

We’ve seen the ship sailing the docks but have you seen it acutally docking?

The Matthew of Bristol is one of the city’s prized assets. It is a modern replica of the ship John Cabot sailed to Newfoundland in 1497.

The project originated in the mid nineties, launched in the September of 1996 to coincide with the 500th anniversary of the original voyage.

Now, its home is on Princes Wharf outside M Shed, where it continues to be used for trips, events, private hire and even filming.

Here you can see it parking up – docking – back on the harbourside following a trip around the docks.
