Parents stand up to formal pre-school learning
Parents are standing up to what they believe is ‘unrealistic’ learning expectations in pre-school classes according to toddler music franchise Music Bugs.
Research undertaken by the music and singing classes found parents want their under 5s to be able to develop and learn within a play based informal environment.
Managing Director of Music Bugs, Claire Bennett said: “There is a growing debate as to which environment provides the most rewarding learning experience for young children.”
“Far too many pre-school classes place unrealistic expectations or restrictions on young children rather than recognising the importance of letting kids be kids and encouraging them to develop and learn new skills in a more relaxed and balanced way.”
