South West couples splash cash to forget ex

Lovers in the South West getting their heart broken are also at risk of breaking the bank as research finds 47  per cent of people in the region are splashing out up to £5000 to get over an ex.

Cash is being spent on nights out and holidays to make those with the blues feel better with men tending to spend more than women.

Relationships in the region don’t last long with a whopping 43 per cent nose diving after just two years.

The findings from Borro.com, also discovered that men tend to be more sentimental than women, with four out of five men clinging on to an item given to them by their ex.

A more ruthless 30 per cent of women quite happily sell or pawn a gift from their ex to raise quick cash to fund their post relationship pick-me-up.
