Bristol children can get fit for free at MEND

Bristol families with young children aiming to get healthier can apply to join the MEND programme.

Bristol City Council is offering local families a free place on the health and fitness programme running at Merchants’ Academy sports centre.

The national scheme MEND stands for Mind, Exercise, Nutrition…Do it!

Children between the ages of 7 and 13 who are above the healthy weight range for their age group can take part in the programme becoming more active with the support of their family.

The programme will run for ten weeks from Tuesday 28 September until Thursday 9 September.

Places cost £350 but there are limited number of free places due to funding from the Big Lottery.
