Go Girl on hand to make sleepovers a success
It’s the second Go Girl Sleepover Day next month, with the girly date set to become an annual event.
Aiming to help youngsters host successful sleepovers, Go Girl magazine has plenty of tips to make the 23 October event fun and stress-free.
1. Always save sleepovers for weekends. Saturday 23 October is the perfect date – you’ll have the whole of half term to recover and it’s Go Girl Sleepover Day! Head to www.gogirlmag.co.uk/sleepover for more info and plenty to keep girls entertained on the night.
2. Keep it small. Even four girls can seem like an army when they’re giggling all night!
3. Stock up on juice and savoury snacks as well as sweets and fizzy drinks. You don’t want your guests to eat so much sugar they don’t sleep all night!
4. Make or buy plain cupcakes or muffins, then provide icing, sweets, glace cherries, chocolate and sprinkles so the girls can decorate their own midnight feasts.
5. Let the girls raid your old make-up and clothes and put on a fashion show. They’ll love it!
6. Head to www.gogirlmag.co.uk/sleepover to download and print dare games, trivia quizzes, celebrity masks and more! There are also lots of tips in the sleepover special issue of Go Girl on sale 6 October; it’ll keep them quiet for ages!
7. Remember, it doesn’t all have to be DVDs and karaoke. Half of the fun of a sleepover is snuggling up in sleeping bags, reading magazines and having a good old gossip!
8. Set up a stage in the lounge where they can show off their dance moves! Just move the sofa out of the way so they have some space to strut their stuff!
9. Make sure you have all of the parents’ phone numbers in case homesickness strikes late at night. You could also set a few ground rules – e.g. lights out at 10pm so they know it’s not fair to be playing on the Wii at 2am!
10. Let the girls know where to find you if they need you but try not to join in, however tempting it may be!
For more hints and tips to make your sleepover a success, Go Girl will be publishing a special bumper sleepover edition on sale 6 October.
