Children in country less likely to be active outdoors

Children living in the countryside have been found to be less active than those living in the city.

Summer holiday research by Crealy Great Adventure Parks, found more than a quarter of children living in urban areas spent at least three hours each day being active outside compared to a fifth in the country.

The county of Avon – which has not existed since 1996 and we believe to mean Bath and North East Somerset, City of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire – came third in the list of counties where children were least active outside.
