Background
Arnos Vale Park is located on the Bath Road behind the ITV Studios.
The reasonably large park has a good area of green space and woodland and a very recently refurbished children’s play area.
There is plenty of room to accommodate all community users including children and dog walkers.
There is a route through the park – though hideously steep – that runs directly up to the Knowle shopping centre. Prams and buggies could do with a wrist strap for safety.
What’s good for parents and carers?
The play park is reasonably safe and enclosed. The wider park is great for spending the longer part of the day including kite flying, football and picnics.
What’s good for children?
The play park has been refurbished very recently. It includes swings for little ones, a slide, roundabout, climbing frames, aerial slide, rocks and a large sandpit.
The steeper part of the hill is one of the ultimate places to sledge during the snow.
A park committee arranges events through the year.
What is access like?
The Bath Road is really dangerous. It is fast and very busy. There are traffic lights to get you across but extra caution is needed here as some drivers don’t bother to stop.
Pram access through the park is fine.
No toilets.
Any issues?
Early Saturday morning visits may include picking up beer bottles and empty cans.
What sort of time frame will the visit take?
As long as you like.
Basically…
A large park with a good play area that will suit children from six months and up.
