Average length of time to display fridge art is four months
It’s a joy at first. Those early pieces of art. Then they paint you a picture every day. And it’s brilliant. But then they move onto junk modelling. Every day.
Soon parents start to feel the pressure of the growing gallery, as the average child brings home 48 pieces of art from school per year.
According to a survey of 1,000 parents, 63 per cent of parents feel guilty about taking their children’s pictures down too early, with 90 per cent keeping their children’s creations in storage rather than binning them.
A snooty 2 per cent claimed they would never put any of their children’s art work up at home because it wouldn’t match their interior design.
The findings from Lec show the fridge and kitchen is the most common place for pictures to be displayed, with the average length of time for display four months.
Lec are also inviting parents to celebrate their children’s fridge art with a competition at www.lec.co.uk/fridgeart
