Bad weather continues with more Snow for South West

The inclement weather is set to continue in the South West, with severe frosts and bitterly cold winds heading into the weekend.

With many of Bristol’s hilly untreated pavements already impassable due to recent snow, conditions are set to persist into Friday.

Chief Forecaster at the Met Office, Richard Young said: “Temperatures will struggle to rise above freezing across most of the country by day, with severe and penetrating frosts at night. Strong east to north-easterly winds will pick up across many areas later Friday, making it feel bitterly cold. Drifting snow will become an additional hazard over the weekend.”

The cold conditions are expected to continue until at the middle of January at the earliest.

Bristol could see further outbreaks of heavy snow on Sunday 10 and Monday 11 of January.
