Baldwin Street Cycleway Completion Work This Week
The new cycleway in Baldwin Street will be soon be completed after work started yesterday to fill in the gap.
The dutch-style segregated cycleway on busy Baldwin Street has a section missing, due to building work. It is anticipated the work will take around a month to complete.
Since the end of 2017, the section has been missing, this is now being installed and the pedestrian path resurfaced
The city centre improvement work has come from the government’s Cycle Ambition Fund, which pays for better cycling networks.
This is one of the city’s most used commuter routes and it’s important that this work takes place to complete the cycle track and help prevent parking in the cycleway,” Peter Mann, Service Director for Transport at Bristol City Council said.
“The work will mean that regular cyclists and walkers can have a safe and easy journey to the centre.”
