BBC Radio Bristol Live Appeal Runs Eat Cake Friday
BBC Radio Bristol Live Appeal – Eat Cake Friday
Eating cake is always an easy thing to do, and here’s a altruistic reason for doing more of it.
The BBC Radio Bristol Live Appeal, is urging people in the region to eat cake on Friday 31 August 2018 as part of a fundraising event.
The team is aiming to raise £50,000 to fund 300 activity sessions in care homes and day centres and need Bristol’s help to do it. The special activity sessions will bring joy and laughter to people living with dementia and associated difficulties.
BBC Radio Bristol’s Breakfast Show presenter Emma Britton says: “I’m an expert in the art of eating cake and I can’t wait for ‘Eat Cake Friday’ – it’s going to be one of my best days of the year.
“Maybe you can get together with some work mates to bake cakes and sell them? Or organise a fundraising coffee morning for friends with some shop-bought goodies? Either way, the money raised will help improve the lives of older people living here, and you get to eat cake and have fun on a Friday. You might even get some BBC Radio Bristol presenters dropping in – I’ve cleared my diary.”
If you want to take part in the Eat Cake Friday, visit www.bbc.co.uk/aliveappeal for a fundraising guide which include a template poster and bunting. You can also get BBC Radio Bristol in on your plans as the team will be visiting as may of those taking part on the day as possible.
