Bedminster street piano burns

One of the Bristol street pianos has become a victim of arson just six hours after being left in public.

The piano left in Dame Emily Park, Southville, Bedminster, was part of the Street Pianos project coordinated by local artist Luke Jerram.

The idea behind the project was to get the public to play, customise and socialise around the community pianos.

There was confusion amongst members on the Dame Emily Park committee, some of whom believed the piano to be destroyed within six hours, others who claim the piano never actually arrived.

The Southville piano has been removed from the Street Pianos website.
