Nestled in a gloriously green part of Cotwold Edge, Bournstream is a play park and picnic site, for disabled children and young people up to the age of 18 years.
With easy access from Bristol, this special site has play structures, sand pits, climbing frames, football goals and Dino Cars. It also has a water splash area, although due to the extreme heat, this feature was not available during our visit.
Large trees provided plenty of shade during our time in the blazing sunshine. Though easily accessible by road, it is peaceful, tranquil and feels a million miles from anywhere else.
Access to the secured site is through membership, with books opening again from Spring 2023. There are accessible toilet facilities onsite.
We visited Bournstream in August 2022 as part of the Bristol Autism Project, a short breaks provider by Bristol City Council and had such an amazing time we wanted to share the venue with other local disabled families.
