Bristol bottom of the charts for the naughty step

Bristol has some of the UK’s most lenient parents according to the findings in a new study.

MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, polled more than 1,200 parents across the country to find out how many times parents with children aged under seven years were forced to discipline every day.

Newcastle came top of the charts with 14 per cent of parents admitting to discipling their child more than five times a day.

In second place came Portsmouth with 12 per cent and Glasgow in third with 11 per cent.

Bristol came in ninth position, with just three per cent regularly dealing with behaviour.

When it comes to the method of discipline, overall, 8 per cent smacked their child with the majority of 26 per cent using the naughty step.
