Bristol Families Invited to Big Green Picnic by Bristol Cathedral
Big Green Picnic on College Green:
Families are being invited to Bristol’s first Big Green Picnic taking place on College Green next week.
The event is being organised by Bristol Cathedral and the Diocese of Bristol for Wednesday 29 August between 11.30am and 2pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend, with the organisers urging people to think about ways they can cut down on their use of plastic to make the event sustainable and environmentally friendly.
As well as the picnicking, there will be eco stalls and activities and speakers talking about how we can become more aware about our individual impact on the environment.
“Our hope is that the Big Green Picnic will show that there are many small things that each of us can do to help protect our planet,” Ven Michael Johnson, Acting Archdeacon of Bristol said.
“So pack up your plastic-free picnic hamper, filled with as much local produce as possible, hop on public transport and join us for a picnic lunch as we promote living green.”
