Bristol GCSE results reach government targets
GCSE results in Bristol have finally reached set government targets.
Results for the city showed that 40 per cent of students managed to gain five or more GCSEs at grades A* to C, including cores subjects English and maths.
The figures showed a five per cent increase on last year’s results.
Cabinet Member for Children and Young People Councillor Clare Campion-Smith said: “This is another major step forward for educational achievement in Bristol. I think we are seeing good evidence of continued progress but there is still plenty to do to raise achievement and narrow educational gaps such as between boys and girls and in black and minority ethnic communities.”
