Bristol Parent Carers Forum event will help parent carers feedback to Ofsted and the CQC regarding the WSoA
A series of online events will be taking place, giving Bristol’s parent carers the chance to have their say on the progress Bristol City Council has made on improving Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (Send) in the city.
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) will soon be returning to find out how Bristol has progressed with its Written Statement of Action (WSoA).
They will be carrying out their re-inspection of Send services in Bristol, which will include the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Social Care.
The original Send inspection took place in October 2019. Ofsted and the CQC found five areas of significant weakness, meaning Bristol City Council and partners had to put together a plan to monitor its progress against these.
The plan was completed in March 2020, with Ofsted and the CQC revisiting imminently in 2022 to find out if things have improved.
Bristol Parent Carers Forum, is running a series of workshops to represent the parent carer voice for the re-visit. They are asking parent carers to fill in surveys and take part in live sessions to hear more about experiences of Send and Send improvement during the last 27 months.
