Bristol Schools Forum Tuesday 26 March 2024

The public meeting streamed live on Bristol City Council’s YouTube page has been hidden again

Bristol Schools Forum has once again made the live stream of its public meeting hidden so anyone unable to access the original broadcast is not able to watch it on catch-up.

Schools Forum Operational and good practice guide March 2021 states: ‘Schools forums are more than just consultative bodies. They also have an important role to play in approving certain proposals from their local authority and are therefore involved in the decision making process surrounding the use of public
money at local level. As a result schools forums are required to be open to the public. Furthermore papers, agendas and minutes must be publicly available well in advance of each meeting. It’s good practice that notification that the schools forum is a public meeting is included on the website and papers are published at least a week in advance. Local authorities should ensure that the websites are accessible and easy to find.’

Bristol Schools Forum frequently features verbal updates from senior education leads, which leaves little to no public record as to what will and has transpired in hidden meetings.

The next Bristol Schools Forum is scheduled to be on Tuesday 21 May 2024 at 5pm.
