Bristol’s New Education Director Comes From The DfE

New Executive Director of Education in Bristol to start in February next year

The next Executive Director of Education in Bristol is coming from the Department for Education.

Hannah Woodhouse, announced on X – Twitter – yesterday, that she would be leaving the role of Regional Director for South West, held since September 2022.

Prior to this, Woodhouse was the Regional Schools Commissioner for South-West England, from 2019.

Woodhouse said on X: ‘After nearly 7 years in SW regions group it’s time to move on! From Feb I will be Exec Director Children & Education at Bristol CC. It’s a fabulous opportunity to lead across a terrific city – where I was born – working with children’s services, schs & trusts.’

Hannah Woodhouse will be taking over the vacant Bristol role in February 2024.

Former Executive Director Abi Gbago, left the role after just nine months.
