Buddies Toothpaste is Ideal for Children with Sensory Sensitivities – Review

Our Verdict: Hint of Mint is perfect for children with sensory sensitivity to traditional toothpaste
Our Rating: 10/10
Buddies is a new toothpaste and toothbrush created especially for children that don’t like the flavour of typical toothpastes.
It has been designed for children between the ages of 2-5 years, and comes in two mild flavours Apple Fresh and Hint of Mint.
Both the flavours genuinely are very mild and come out in a thin gel consistency.
Chopsy Baby’s Jen Smith says: “When I first heard about the Buddies toothpaste I had to try it. I have an older child with sensory processing difficulties and tooth brushing has always been a major trauma. He doesn’t like the flavours. He doesn’t like the consistency. He doesn’t like the way it feels or tastes.
“It’s a common issue for children with autism or sensory processing disorder. If this toothpaste worked for him I knew it had to be something quite special.
“He tried the apple one, which I think tastes really nice, but he didn’t like it. But the Hint of Mint has been a real winner. So much so, he has asked me to make sure I buy him more of the same when the current tube runs out.”
Another good point to the toothpaste in the pump tube is that it is much easier for children with poor motor skills and planning to be able to dispense it without shooting it up walls.
For parents who are struggling to get their children to use toothpaste because they don’t like current brands on the market, this is absolutely worth a punt.
