Car Insurance Prices Have Dropped £41 in Three Months in the South West

Government reviews of the Ogden Rate and the way whiplash claims are calculated, may be responsible for a drop in the cost of car insurance.

Across the UK, car insurance has dropped by two per cent and £13 in the last 12 months.  The price drop is even bigger in the West Country, which has seen rates falling by £41 in just three months.

But new research finds that customers automatically renewing with the same insurer aren’t necessarily benefiting from the savings and are being urged to shop around.

Motoring editor at Confused.com, Amanda Stretton says: “Finally drivers in the South West have had some good news with the end of rising car insurance costs in sight. However, it’s clear that many motorists are not seeing these savings reflected in their renewal letters, so it’s more important than ever to shop around if they want to get a better deal.”
