Celebrities support baby charity auction

Celebrities from the stage, screen, music and politics scenes are pledging their support to help support a baby charity.

Baby Lifeline’s Be My Baby auction will be running from 5 until 15 of November 2009 with prizes donated by stars including Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ben Kingsley, former Prime Minister Tony Blair, Hollywood director Sam Mendes and Corrie star Jimmi Harkishin

Chief Executive of Baby Lifeline, Judy Ledger set up the charity after she lost three premature babies. She said: “We aim to raise at least £2.5 million to allow us to continue to fund equipment and lifesaving training projects for maternity units up and down the country.

“I would appeal to anyone who can to get involved in the auction. There is something for everyone – from a family fun day out or a hotel stay in Hong Kong to meeting and greeting or dining with A-list celebrities. Thank you to the generosity of so many who have donated such amazing prizes. Every penny generated from this auction will make a huge difference to pregnant mums and newborn babies across the country.”
