Change4Life to sneak into the lives of new parents

The new Change4Life campaign helping families to eat well and move more will be focusing on delivering a Healthy Child Programme.

This will support pregnant women and parents of babies to set up good feeding and activity habits to stop them becoming obese in later life.

Again, the pushing of breastfeeding will be a key feature with mums encouraged to do this for the first six months of the baby’s life.

Holding off weaning until the baby is ready and introducing a range of different foods to children will also feature.

Parents will be urged to get their baby active through play from day one. This will help their children to develop brain and muscle power.

Healthcare professionals such as midwives, health visitors and family nurses will play a direct role in undermining and interfering in the lives of parents and parents-to-be
