Cheap I’m bored mum ideas for the Easter Holiday – Weston-Super-Mare
Cheap I’m bored mum ideas for the Easter Holiday

Love it or loathe it, Weston-Super-Mare is the perfect place for a family day out.
It has miles of beaches, plenty of tacky gift shops and a blinged- up pier. A water park for children has also opened on Knightstone Road.
A day trip to Weston can be as cheap or expensive as you like. Ice creams cost an average of £1.50, a donkey ride £2.00 and a ride on the pier train 50 pence per person. If you want to travel light, there are supermarkets in the town where you can buy food for a picnic. Instead of ramming a million changes of clothes into your bag for your child, have them wear a swimming costume under their clothes. On the beach, they can take the top layer off, play as necessary, and then when dried out pop them back on for the return journey home.
The mini club ‘sunsafe’ swim wear, cuts back on the need for additional heavy tubs of sun cream, boasting in-built 40+ UPF protection fabric. Available for 0-6 year-olds. This comfortable aquamarine blue stripy costume £13. Matching hat £6. Available at Boots. Worked brilliantly through the day and didn’t attract or trap sand.
Travel by train is always an exciting event for toddlers and children. The Boots mini club hat keeps the sun off the neck no matter how hot it is.
There are plenty of beach stalls to buy outdoor toys, games and balls to irritate other beach users. Drawing pictures of Daleks in the sand is free and can be just as exciting to youngsters.
Donkey rides are available on the beach from Easter to October weather permitting. Children aged from around one to fourteen years can have a ride.
